A strong partner for demanding steel structures
Karjalan Konepaja Oy (est. 1993) is a solid, privately owned Finnish industrial contract engineering workshop. Production is located in Parikkala, and the group includes the subsidiary Panelian Terästyö Oy in Harjavalta — a contract workshop operating since 1995 that manufactures industrial steel structures and performs equipment installations across Finland (EN 1090-2, EXC1–EXC2). Two production sites mean flexible capacity and installation readiness in both eastern and western Finland.
We manufacture large and demanding steel structures – tubular bridges, conveyor bridges, steel frameworks, silos and tanks – covering the whole chain from design to manufacturing, surface treatment, transport and installation. Our special expertise is the welding of large and heavy steel structures, including stainless and acid-resistant steels.
We serve a broad range of industries: forest industry, chemical industry, metal industry, energy and power plants, mining, and data centre projects. Our customers include leading Finnish industrial companies.
Certified quality
We hold the strongest certifications in the field: EN 1090-2 (CE marking, execution classes EXC1–EXC3), ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2. Our quality management system is audited by Kiwa. Over 3,600 m² of production space houses machining, welding, assembly, pre-treatment and surface treatment under one roof.

Delivery capability
Custom-made steel — from Parikkala all the way to Uruguay
We operate across Finland, and our projects extend abroad when needed. Our most exceptional delivery was a pipe bridge project for UPM's pulp mill in Uruguay: oversized transports from Parikkala to the port of Kotka and onwards by sea — a three-month voyage the structures withstood flawlessly.
For transmission system operator Fingrid, we relocated three reserve power plant gas turbines from western Finland to Huutokoski — dismantling, refurbishment, new fabrication and installation as a single delivery.
